Both are traditions for him, every year my sister-in-law makes one; and every New Year's he finds a new way to blow it up. I think she uses some stuff that makes them inedible; I don't know exactly what her materials are, but they're always spectacular.
Try waiting a minute, I thought the same thing about needing to register to see it; but it shouldn't require that.
