Oh Stronts, give it a rest, you're as much an object of ridicule around here as I am.

Not that I give a fuck about "realism".
That much is evident.
BTW I don't know what prompted this tagteam of wankery from you and Aerothorn, but the fucking gloves are off now.

Oh, and Noid, I wasn't referring to people I've met in real life in the above comment... only via the Internet. Perhaps I should have been more specific?
Oh and Livejournal / Deviant Art community criticism doesn't count either

I don't know, Stronts, surely your hands are less intimidating than your thighs?

But you said that you found the downy covering of my adductors "welcoming and comforting" :(

i just realised that sypha is like the real-world embodiment of jon from garfield

I'd rather it not be "the pants are off," unless we've decided we aren't fighting anymore; in which case, carry on.

The acknowledgments alone made me shift uncomfortably in my seat. The first paragraph of the story proper made my teeth grind. The pop culture references (oh so it's the 80s) and the "Hey weren't you supposed to be a coach for the NBA" dialogue were so forced that I almost called a rape counsel center.
But in all fairness, I think it's great that you followed through on an idea from start to finish, for better or worse. That's definitely something to be proud of.

What the FUCK are you talking about you silly tart
I hope to Christ this is your mental illness speaking because there's no other excuse for you being such a clueless fuckwit
You respond to accusations of bigotry by dragging my mental disability into this? Some defense.
edit: screw the rest of this, Sypha said it well enough and I should just keep it in PM.

wow, nothing stings like being dissed on the web by a guy who goes by the name "OnionBob".
yeah you totally don't give a shit about what "THE WEB" thinks of your work
if you don't give a shit about what people think about this project and it's all ART FOR YOUR OWN SAKE then why did you 1. pay over a thousand dollars to get it vanity published without it having ever seen an editor, and 2. post a thread about it here?
People like Bret Easton-Ellis can posture about writing for themselves because they've already proven themselves as successful, relevant, interesting and skilled writers. They have gone through the long, painful process of building experience, a reputation and a healthy archive of rejection letters before they even began to be considered for legitimate publication. I guarantee anything and everything that they ever wrote truly "for themselves" was never published, and certainly not at the start of their careers. Because nobody else cares. No career writer is ever just writing for themselves, and if they are, their editor is covering the manuscript in red ink and returning it with a warning that if they want to pay the rent they should think about who is fucking reading their book.
But you wouldn't know that because you chose to take the route that bypasses all levels of quality control and review, market research (who would buy this book?) and any kind of chance of being taken seriously. It's like paying people to come to your birthday party.
Oh by the way I only quoted back to you some of your own writing to give you a chance to examine what it looks like outside of the original context. If it looks so ridiculous to you out of that context that you'll get defensive about it, maybe you should consider rewriting it.
