Sypha,
A VCR "hungrily sucked in" a tape, did it?
This reads like high-school english homework, though I'm willing to believe you when you say you thought the beginning was a bit weak. The story isn't necessarily bad, you've just got develop your writing style.
It may have been a bit foolish to fork out a grand just to see your book in print, but at least you know you can finish something. And, if you've got any sense you'll digest what StrangeBlue had to say and move on to the next project with a view to improving on what you've acheived so far.
By the way, you really are quite lucky to have access to some people here who can be arsed to give you some honest (and relatively wise) thoughts - I only hope you can allow them to sink in.

Without reading this whole thread but a few pages of the book one of the earliest memories I have about comm-chat suddenly came back to me: It was Taffer Boy Elvis telling Sypha to hang himself. Back then I was appalled, confused and disgusted by this kind of behaviour as I had been only used to shock-gen. I think I even reported the post. Today I see these things much more relaxed.
I challenge you to produce said thread.
If I was telling him to hang himself, it would have been something I would have said to make the drama queen take a look at himself. I've been a confidant of Sypha Nadon for many years now. I feel that if I had to rely on one person in this entire TTLG forum, it would be him. Enough said.
