My biggest frustration in Morrowind, without a doubt, is the getting around. Most of the places are not on the paper map that came with the game. And NPCs that I talk to say they'll mark a location on my map, but I have no idea how to access that.
Any help? Thanks!

Sadly I can only offer XBox info.... my recommendation would be to check the manual as it should tell you what keys to press on the PC.
On the XBox, call up the inventory/status screens by pressing the Black button. L or R Trigger over to the map screen. If the map is showing the local map, press the "A" button and you should get the world map. The little squares are the places marked on your map, move the cursor around and when it points to one of them it should show on screen the name of the blip (and the place it's for).
Just a note, I don't know if it's the same on the PC, but I've found the blips aren't always right on the dot, but it'll get you very close. (mostly I notice it's off in the mini-map while you're playing).

Many places
are on the paper map, but they aren't necessarily
written. For instance, most of the old Dunmer forts are displayed with a little fort picture, for instance. And even some of the larger caves are displayed pictorally, but not written.
To access the map - are you on PC or Xbox? If it's PC - open up your inventory screen. The map should be in the lower-right corner. You can make it full-screen (double-click on the title bar, IIRC, but check your manual). You can cycle between your local area (which will show individual houses when you're in town, and minor caves when you're in the wilderness) and the big map, which will show any towns, forts, or fortresses you've visited.
I haven't heard of a bug where NPCs say they'll mark something on your map, but fail to do so. I'd be surprised if the things you're looking for haven't been marked on the map. Make sure you're looking at the main map, not the local one.
And, if you still have trouble finding little out-of-the-way places that aren't marked on your map, ask other NPCs. Especially Scouts. They will usually give you directions on how to get to the little cave based on major landmarks that should already be marked.
And if THAT doesn't work, (
http://www.buttersky.com/morrowind) this site has a pretty exhaustive list of where to find most small locations that won't get marked on your in-game map.

That site you posted has a LOT of stuff. Thanks so much for the help!
