(
http://squappity.com/10-24-2007/) Here's the track list for that particular mix, which was an attempt to capture the feeling of a Summer afternoon giving way to a dark Autumn evening.
more like an attempt to capture Pitchforkmedia's top 16 tracks of 2007
It's a good mix but kinda obvious picks, you know. I wanna see a muxtape from you but put something we haven't heard already on it as well. :p

Just listened to your mix, Tonamel, and it's interesting and fairly obscure stuff.
That Cloud Cult track piqued my interest most of all. Very interesting shit going on in that song, it's infectiously upbeat and catchy as hell.
So... obviously I had to get more of it. I took a listen to The Meaning of 8, and the first half of it freaking blew my mind away. These guys deserve to be way more famous.
I'd written off most of today's music as garbage, but if the Indie rock scene is half as inventive as these guys, I wouldn't mind taking more than just a dip in this pool.

I was thinking about the limits on Muxtape -- format, # of tracks, one-email/one-account, etc -- and after being annoyed at having to convert another 12 songs to MP3 and making a new dummy email, it occured to me that one way around the limits was to use songs on YouTube and make a Playlist instead. Although that has its own limits, I like the fact that there are videos to watch and the number of tracks and playlists is unlimited. I hope it's kosher to post it here.
So here's my proof of concept to see how well it works:

Mixes electric, a French & Japanese vibe, black/white & sepia aesthetic; some old - some new - some piano - some Guru, all a little surreal.
Track list:
Bent - Swollen
Bentley Rhythm Ace - ???
Nonplace Urban Field - whimp
Stella - Cauchemar auto-protestateur
Ambulence - I am not Zen
Squarepusher - Tommib
Air - Alone in Kyoto
Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band - Nikita
Guru ft MC Solaar - Le Bien, Le Mal
PianistaItaliano (Hornsby) - The Way It Is
Hiromi Uehara - Sakura Sakura
Elis Regina (Jobim) - Waters of March
Air - Sexy Boy
Buckaroo Banzai Ending Credits
(Two I linked in the YouTube thread, but they fit so well here. I'm concerned about how the pause between songs affects things, and the quality.)

Well well, I thought it's only matter of time until the suits discover Muxtape's potential for free 'transmission' of copyrighted music. I wonder if Muxtape survives attack of RIAA's IP law predators?

RIAA wins?

Unless they kill the music. :(
