Create and share mixtapes.
Cool concept, I'm working on one in my mind now for posting later.

Double posting as an attn whore bump.
(

Come on guys, I know some of you out there probably have some fucking zingers. Share your "best of" or a particular mood tape.
I'll probably update mine at a later stage to reflect my variable taste in music.

This been linked just lately. Also 46 min may leave you with a cutoff on a regular 90 min tape. And what's with the other side? I hope you don't plan to give it to your girlfriend like that. Do you expect her to rewind the whole thing every time?

Knowing your taste in music that's mostly quite predictable stuff. Still good tho. But that Folk Implosion song I'm digging. Only ever heard "Free to go" by em before and I think I've been meaning to explore their discography further for a few years now. Any suggestions on what album to start with?
I'll listen through the rest of it at work some day.
I love making mix-tapes. I've got about 30-40 of em on my iPod and when I start a new one I usualy pick a motif and go with it. Seeing as you only get to make one mix-tape here it was difficult to pick just one, but after a lot of agonizing I've decided to go with...

I've tried to pick "summery" songs but of course a lot of them just sounds "summery" because of personal associations. Still, I'd like to hear what you all think. :)

Eh...wish there was a way to add some type of description to the tape so I'd know what I'm in for.
Scots - Shape of My Heart ftw. Really great, stark, overlooking song.

Folk Implosion are all over the place, they were folk implojun, then THE folk implosion, then The NEW folk implosion, but for albums I recommend are (
http://www.amazon.com/One-Part-Lullaby-Folk-Implosion/dp/B00000K3W7) One Part Lullaby as being the pinnacle of songwriting and (
http://www.amazon.com/Dare-Be-Surprised-Folk-Implosion/dp/B0000000SP) Dare to be Surprised as the album where I found my roots with them, there are a few great little songs on that disc (but quite a number of duffs too, I must admit).
As for being predictable, this was my "best of" muxtape (even then it culled out a few biggies I love and wanted - Dead Flag Blues, for instance - plus 12 tracks is NOT enough) but I'm going to mix it up and do others that reflect my changing musical taste so maybe you'll get a surprise out of those.
Listening to yours at work today. (

I actually find this an interesting concept, and tried using it, but for some reason I'm unable to upload any song. After a while I simply receive a message saying that the file I uploaded either wasn't an mp3 or the upload was interrupted :p
Scots Taffer on 15/4/2008 at 23:24
Huh. I was sad to see this thread sink without a trace, I'll try to upload a fresh muxtape when I get the chance.
D'Arcy on 16/4/2008 at 00:20
It seems that Muxtape is very picky regarding the encoding of the mp3 one tries to upload. I just tried re-encoding some of the mp3 that it wouldn't accept (using Creative MediaSource) and now I'm able to upload without problems. Odd.

Henke - no John Waite? What the heck?
(
