I listen to both punk and skinhead music. What I don't like is the ideology. I just like the music. That's what other people can't understand. They think that I must be anarchist in order to be true punk fan or I must be nazi to be true OI! Music fan. What do you think?
A lot of us listen to music that doesnt always reflect our personal values. I'm a Christian but I liked Manson's 'The Beautiful People' and 'Highway to Hell' by AC/DC among other songs-but it doesnt mean I like the devil! I'd probably keep your love of nazi rock to yourself and not mention it to your friends though to help prevent any misunderstandings.:erg:

After a few beers last night I decided to put I'm wide awake it's morning on, to see if drink made it better.
But no. So I'm just joining the anti-Oburst bandwagon.

RED MONKEY of Newcastle (where Venom come from)
Good, but very full-on with their politics - will irritate some. But they're still good.
And while I couldn't call them a punk band (or an
anything band), I must second henke's recommendation of Dresden Dolls, they're fucking excellent. Look for a video of their cover of War Pigs, it's great. But of course, their own stuff is better. EDIT but apart from that your sister is right, henke.
So, anybody else like Fugazi? They were and still are my all-time favourite punk band, which brings out a slight pang of shame in me (British punk fan favouring American punk band :nono: ), but they were just brilliant. You're all going to tell me they were shit (and why) now, aren't you?

I suppose my first post in this thread needs a bit of explaining and does indeed contain some hasty generalizations.
Recently, my favorite local radio station (New Rock Revolution) underwent a major make-over. They used to play some pretty good stuff that WAS new but recently they've adopted the new fad that's sprung up in my parts that I absolutely disagree with.
Depression. That seems to be the excuse for everyone around here (Des Moines) recently. They've began to play nothing but My Chemical Romance, The Used, Hawthorne Heights, etc.etc.
Naturally, I was pissed off about it and really wanted to vent. A bit out of context, I admit, but I saw this thread and felt the urge...Perhaps it would have been more appropriate to start a new one...
:erm:
Oh and excuse the type-o. (I meant cents) Layoff I'm tired...:p

I'm hooked on the new (
http://www.myspace.com/antiflag) Anti-Flag album (you can listen to it all on that link). They've been around a fair while, and they're not doing anything new, but still - very good.

I don't mean to gnaw on your titties here, but "type-o"
really makes me grate my teeth. Sure, in science we have Type I and Type II errors, but what you're talking about is a "typographical error" which is abbreviated to "typo" -- not "type-o"
And it wasn't even a typographical error, anyway. It was a homophone fuck up. And probably not an accidental one, either. I see far too many things like "fall by the waist side" and "for all intensive purposes" and the like to let that stuff slide anymore. I am firmly convinced that the Internet is making everyone stupid, and that teachers probably think "some1" is acceptable in a paper these days.

Personally, I was thinking of blood types but that works too.

As we were discusiing music, I was thinking the last thing we really need is a little Peter Steel.
