Hi Taffers,
Over the past year, I've been making these T:TDP-inspired dark ambient jazzy instrumental tracks, accompanied by a video made of parts of cutscenes and briefings, and posting them on YouTube. It's a side project, as I'm in the production phase of a much bigger music project also related to Thief.
As the fifth track is coming out today, dedicated to Dan Thron (who has already heard it and loved it, much to my Thief fan heart's content :D), I would like to share them with you after asking the admin for permission (as I wasn't sure this could fit the forum).
Hopefully, more taffers post their own Thief-inspired musical content because I know we've got musicians out there amongst us :)

This is really cool. All five of your Thief inspired songs have a great atmosphere. Can you tell a bit more about this bigger project?

Thanks! It's a somewhat conceptual two part progressive metal album. The first part, which will come out hopefully by the end of this year of the beginning of the next one, goes through the inner thoughts of several secondary characters of T:TDP on the events up to Garrett being caught by Constantine. It's a heavier, denser and much more complex project hence why, while that isn't ready, I'm making these dark ambient tracks whenever I can because they're faster to produce.

I love prog metal, can't wait to hear it! I always wondered if there was some music inspired by Thief out there. And what kind of prog metal?

I'm highly influenced by bands/artists such as Devin Townsend, Opeth, Gojira and Meshuggah as well as non-prog metal like Sepcticflesh, Dimmu Borgir and Imperial Triumphant. I tend to fit the instrumental parts to make sense within or reinforce the lyrics, the feeling in them and also, in this specific project, the character and his or her point of view and what comes out is usually a mixture of these references, I think.
