Thanks!
Let's see hear...
generic tense strings: CHECK
obligatory Inception horns: CHECK
heck, there's even a hint of dubstep in there
Soundtrack of the year!

Well, I've got to say it's kinda disappointing. Sounds more like a generic Batman music than Thief... :erg:
Do we know who's doing the musics in this game ? Michael McCann did an outstanding work with Deus Ex HR, even with the very first teaser trailer.

Gotta agree with DrK that this doesn't sound very "thiefy", but apart from that I don't think it's too bad. It is a bit generic indeed, but at least it doesn't try to be excessively "epic" like most other game soundtracks. Hopefully there'll be something more recognisable and different in the game though.

Oh come on, I know that's your attempt at being sarcastic, but dubstep? We all know that you want the new Thief to fail badly so that you can come back later with your "I told you so!" posts, but is it really necessary to make up things like this just to "prove a point"? :erg:

Paul Weir was the original composer, but he left Eidos Montreal a year ago so I don't know whether this is his stuff, especially considering his (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134358) "Stealing Sound" presentation at GDC 2011 included music that was much better and more thiefy
Indeed it sounds much more interesting than the trailer music. If he left EM a year ago I doubt they still use his work, and the game is still in developement until at least 2014 so I guess they found someone else.
Hell the more I know about the developement of Thiaf, the more I worry...

Thanks for posting that mp3. I've listened to it a few times over a couple of days and I it's growing on me. I like what Paul demoed as well, it's a shame that his work has been/will be scraped for the music (or it seems atm anyways). I would assume whatever sound effect work he did would still be in unless it was no good.

We don't want it to fail...We want TEEF to be THIEF...EM will have to do their part, otherwise the THIEF community will rightously consider it a failure as a THIEF game...and it will always be known as TEEF.

Okay. 0:32 - 0:48 actually reminded me of the Bonehoard, or other 'creepy' missions.
But why ruin that lovely 10 or so seconds with loud-ass horns and orchestra stuff? *sigh*
If they just stick with that creepy ambient-style music, then that'd be great.
