the game is heavily shock inspired, but not necessarily the music.
I'd like to get the sci-fi feel without the Buck Rogers feel if you get what I mean.
The soundtrack for SS2 worked well, but it gave me a feeling like goggles opened the door to med/sci and just looked around. cracked his knuckles and thought "hmm, lets get to work!"
I'd rather convey the "oh.. i'm F'd" feeling right out the front door.

If you think about adding a breakbeat, do yourself and the world a favour and don't use the (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break) Amen Break (the very one in the Vsnares video Kolya linked to). Using it in any breakbeat related music is like rhyming Fire with Desire.

I'm not much of an expert on using lots of electronic equipment for synthesizing music. I Have a Korg M1 but I dont know how to use it. (I dont even know how to play piano) All this stuff that I did here was on guitar. even the white noise wind storm sound in the background of the first piece. I'm pretty traditional in that way. I recorded this using my guitar and my effects processor plugged directly into my Line2/mic2 input on my audigy. If I do any recording with drums It would probably be a live drumset with a heavy rock kind of a beat.
I'll let the other guy to the breakbeat/electronic stuff. I"m not terribly experienced with it. Mind you my drummer has a Korg mini synth.. and that thing is awesome,, you don't need to know how to play piano or even how to use it very well to make some awesome stuff come out of it.
hopefully the 2 of us can do some collaborative stuff to round it out. I really like the heavy industrial rock kind of thing. liek stabbing westward or econoline crush. Or even the first 30 seconds to mars cd. I like the hybrids.
