1930's horror sound effects record is the only thing that keeps me going when the sun falls to the mountains.

Listen to Satie and Chopin mostly at night, calm and beautiful.

I used to listen to Stone Temple Pilots Purple Album quite a lot when drifting off to sleep. The last song listed on the album is Kitchenware and Candy Bars. It's a pretty mellow song, usually making me finally fall asleep.
I used to wake up hearing something crazy though. (
http://home.comcast.net/~presleycraig/My2ndalbum.wav) This song called "My Second Album" would be playing. It's not listed on the tracks, and it's not Stone Temple Pilots. I kept wondering who was fucking with my stereo, as I lived in Army barracks, and my room mate used to leave the door open quite frequently. So gazing at the track listing on the back of the CD, there's a picture of a cake with the words, "12 Gracious Melodies" written on it. Wow, that's lyrics of the weird song I keep hearing.
Turns out it's some dude infatuated with Johnny Mathis, and STP thought it fit their style for that album.
Now I typically don't listen to music while sleeping. But sometimes a good dose of Tchaikovsky goes a long way in relaxing me. After dark, I am also caught listening to 80s pop hits when I need energy. Something like (

For some reason, I've been putting on Pandora's trip-hop channel at night, not paying any attention to the artists, or marking songs. Just letting it play in the background. I went through a phase where I listened to Symphony X all the time at night, then I realized it's possible that they suck, so they're on hold until I can re-evaluate said potential suckage.
