The guy's got a book to sell and he was in town with some time off. Jon Stewart occasionally gets the most insane guests though, it's true. Didn't he have Bill Clinton on a while back?

He had Clinton last Monday. He's had Bill on the show at least once or twice before too. I think he was supprised as the rest of us that the President of Pakistan was his guest last night.
That's why I love Jon Stewart so much. It's true that first and foremost The Daily Show is just entertainment, but JS is also an incredibly smart political commentator. One day he's making fart jokes with Owen Wilson, the next he's making some crackpot religious conservative stammer and shift about in his chair. Unlike most political commentators, or latenight variety show hosts, he actually pays attention to what's going on, and even reads the books his guests are there plugging.

I'm like an hour from you... Do you go to Asylum, perchance?
Thread-relevant comment: Stewart r funay, to be sure. I've had the misfortune of only having been able to see a few episodes.

I just figured since you're on the Internets and all you must be into electronic music and drinking with people who wear all black is all. :P

Yeah, that was impressive. It just fucking KILLS the 24 hour news network anchors too, they cant stand it, scaraboro (yeah, I know thats terrible spelling) sounded like a teenage girl complaining about him. The thing I love the most is when these guys have Jon on their shows expecting to have the upper hand and insted of trying to be funny he is just intelligent and you can tell it irks them.
It had nothing to do with clout at this point, more reputation. They've had people on several times that you know they didnt expect, these people must just offer to come on and Im sure they jump on it. It was a good interview though, Jon's questioning is so reasonable, most news networks I cant stand to even watch most interviews, they all ask the same questions.

Stephen Colbert FTW!

Amen, I was pissed when he left because that left the daily show without any of their old correspondants, but now I get to watch comedy central for an hour insted of a half hour, so its all good. The daily show gets to be kind of the more serious at times show with more serious interviews and colbert gets to just be funny. BTW, Steve whatthefuckwashisname co-founder of apple (not jobs) was fucking loony :o
