Is there a list of things that the Museum will actually buy? There is a book 'Fabled artifacts of Tamriel' or some such in the museum, which I thought at first would list them, but upon closer inspection it appears that some of these artifacts are not in the game at all (were they in other TES games?). Then I took Masque of Clavicus Vile there and they didn't want it, even though it's in the book. Most disappointing.
And, if I go and retrieve Fury from Kogoruhn (I deemed it too dangerous to carry around, so I left it there), will they buy it?

That book in the museum is totally misleading. I'm not sure whether all the artifacts it lists are actually in the game or not but it certainly doesn't serve as a guide to which artifacts the lady will buy from you. I tried taking all sorts of things there and they wouldn't buy them; if you want to know which ones they will buy, have a look in the Editor and those items will be listed twice, with the second listing showing the words "museum chrysamere" (using Chrysamere as an example) I ended up just dumping the artifacts they didn't want on the display benches anyway.
As for Fury, no need to worry-its original "damage skill" effects were altered to "drain skill" in the patch (which is included as part of Tribunal) so you should be able to pick it up and/or equip it without any permanent ill-effects. You can't sell it to the Museum though (they're probably too scared to have it on the premises, can't say I blame them)

Jordy Have u forged nerevars sword? if so do the curators shield in the museum of artifacts is actually needed in reforging the sword? what actual pieces is she looking for in exchange for the shield? my problem is ive traded artifacts in two batches - 1st batch conist of a list on the interact window - i got it all. 2nd list appeared when i got the bipolar sword. Is there a 3rd list/batch of items that will appear for me to exchange for the shield?
p.s. i got Karrods and Almalexias' pieces, so i need the 3rd one.
p.p.s. i am currently carrying most of the artifacts on the book when i talk to the curator, but still no other option to sell/exchange it for the shield.

CK!! You're back-I was beginning to wonder where you'd been :)
Yes I have reforged Nerevar's sword, and you do need the curator's shield.....you simply have to donate (as opposed to sell) any 2 artifacts from the list of things they'll take. I don't think there's a separate list of things you can exchange for the shield. As I said, a lot of the things listed in the book they won't even take :erg: If you haven't got anything on you that you can donate you may have to go looking for more artifacts. I'm going to try to find a definitive list of what the Museum will buy off you so I can post it here.

I was busy - busy contemplating watching 2 towers a second time, busy playing runescape, busy playing tribunal,... u know :)
