I've read the Technical and Troubleshooting FAQ and still can't get Thief 2 to work properly. I've tried the solution given here: (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/guides/hyperthreading/) to overcome the multiprocessor problem, but the output I get is different to what is expected. Specifically, I get:
C:\Program Files\Thief2>imagecfg -u thief2.exe
IMAGECFG: unable to map and load thief2.exe
C:\Program Files\Thief2>imagecfg -a 0x1 thief2.exe
IMAGECFG: unable to map and load thief2.exe
Does anyone know what the problem is?

Imagecfg returns that error if it either can't find the file specified or the file can't be loaded (could be caused by corruption).

I was sure I'd replied to this earlier? :o
Don't see my post so I must have forgot to hit send!
Anyway, try it with "Thief2.icd" instead of "Thief2.exe".
Or use DDFix and get one of the pre-patched .exes - those come with the multicore fix already applied.

puff_ng: You can use (
http://darkfate.ru/?show=files/misc_stuff/FlipTIB_v1.0.zip) this tiny utility, especially written to fix multi-core issue. Install it, then pres RMB and select "FlipTIB: Single-core mode." But if you have a DX10-compatible graphics card (GeForce 8xxx/9xxx/2xx or Radeon HD 2xxx/3xxx/4xxx), I suggest you to use DDFix, as

This guy must have been very desparate.

Thanks for the help guys, DDFix worked. I just realised I had already applied the patch to Thief Gold, but forgot to do it again.
I realised it was in the wrong forum and so posted it here instead after editing it. I couldn't find an option to delete the thread.
