Nobody Im going to check that out ASAP. I had misunderstood what I thought the Minimalist was about, thought it was more of an artistic endeavor than gameplay. Good to hear. Do you know, would it be possible to construct a bit of software that would allow you to raise other difficulty factors, like Thiefbot does for AIs? For example, could you make a program that would limit the number of torches and candles you could put out, or AI knockouts, or set goals such as if the AI sees you the missions fails?

well, if, when you say "you", you mean me, then no way. If you mean someone, then yeah, probably. the minimalist project versions 1.3 and 1.4 have a ghost mode that says you can't kill non-combatants or have more than 2 bodys found so I'm sure there must be a way to make it more strict. I would think that New Horizon just felt like that was a sufficient restriction. and givin all the completely awesome work he's done for us I for one am not going to complain. I'm not too sure about the torches thing but I think a clever modder could dig into the forbidden library missions and find the coding they used for that and apply it any way they'd like thus making a ghost-required mission. I firmly believe that if you've played and loved the old Thief games you simply MUST use the minimalist project to fully enjoy the game. makes a big difference.

I downloaded it last night and its a wonder! I already PMed New Horizon a thank you note. Didnt see that ghost mode you mentioned though, have to reinstall. Though its sad to see all this work go to nought if Eidos's memo about FMs is true.
edit: figured it out, this is great, changes TDSs gameplay wonderfully. Now to get rid of that damn crouching defense.
