my brother wants to register here, but i'm already registered, and when he goes to register, it won't let him, and says we're already registered under my username. is it possible for him to register with his own name and profile from the same computer as me? i'd rather not have him using my username to post here.

If you hit the <a href="http://www.ttlg.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=logout"><img src="http://www.ttlg.com/forums/images/top_logout.gif" border ="0"></a> then he will be able to.
You will have to remember to log out everytime you have finished using ttlg or you run the risk of having your brother accidently post in your name, and vice versa
Hope that helped

i tried that, but it didn't work. i dunno what the problem is, but i can't seem to logout. i selected in my user options to not automatically log in when i come here and to not use cookies as i use the site. when i click logout it says that all cookies are cleared and gives me a link to go back to the main forum list. when i then click on register, i get the same message, that i'm already registered as toad_02. i did it both before and after clicking on the link to take me back to the main forum page. also, i deleted all the cookies on my hard drive before i tried this.

It is very important that you do these things in this exact order in order to solve the problem you are having.
1) Close all open browser windows.
2) Open up Windows Explorer, find your folder for Temporary Internet Files, and delete everything in it.
3) Re-open your browser and navigate to the forums using a "clean" link such as this one: (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums) http://www.ttlg.com/forums . You may have a problem with using a bookmark you may have made because often the bookmark link includes certain "cookied" information (every wonder why all the random letters and numbers at the end of your links?) :) Once you've returned to the forums using a direct link, you *should* find you're logged out and will be able to register again with a new username and email address.
Keep in mind that if you are having this problem now, you will have to repeat this process every time you want to swap identities to allow each other to log in under your nicks.
If these instructions don't help you, feel free to <a href="mailto:hanse@ttlg.com">email me</a> and I'll try to help you out further. :)
EDIT: oops, looks like you solved your own problem while I was writing my long winded reply. ;)

of course TTLG doesn't use even basic encoding to protect your password from pryign eyes, so your password will be in plaintext in the cookie unless you remmeber to deleate it every time which your brother could steal!

Actually, I think that was UBB and is no longer the case with vB. I just checked the only cookie from TTLG I have and it contains my user id (704), a string called "password" which is followed by quite a long encoded string. The file does not contain my password in text form.

Ohhh w00teh :) no more MONB stealing my password from school computers then... but then no more school anyway.... ah well.
