Hi everybody,
this is my first post in this forum.
Now there's the question : Are there any known issues when trying to play System Shock 2 in multiplayer mode with different languages ?
My setting : two computers (Win2k and Win XP) connected over a switch, which is connected to a router (that shouldn't matter). The Router does the DHCP thing on start of the computers. The XP machine starts hosting a game (english version) and then the Win2k machine (german version) tries to join. The correct IP is inserted and searching starts off. In the following the XP machine can't see anyone coming and the Win2k machine crashes !
Any suggestions ? That would be great.
I bought the german version to play multiplayer and english versions are rare here in germany.
MfG, Khani.

Not that I am aware of.
I have played with Shock Players from Netherlands, Iceland, Denmark, United Kingdom, Germany, and Finland.
I have not had a problem with any of the connections. The only problem I have encountered is a communication gap.
That makes the game even scarier in my opinion.

Hello again,
I finally got it working. It was a firewall problem. I have not figured out how the firwall has to be tuned, but it works, when you open the door wide enough ;-).
One of the funny things is, that messages eg when you give items to each other are in the language of the other player.
I can say that multiplayer is a lot of fun and less than half complicated as playing alone. I will play it again this weekend with my brother ...
