Mulit Processor Fix....Question.....

First off.....got new computor....AMD athlon 64..5000+the newest version.......geforce 8600GT....2g of ram.....windows vista...64bit...i installed T2, went smooth....tried to play game, as soon as it tried to load.....got message....T2 has stopped working...never comes on the screen.....thought it might be the multi processor problem.... ....I'm trying the permanent fix.....it says to put the imagecfg, in windows\system32....did that......then do the same in windows\system32\dllcache....it is not there.....did a complete search...it's not on my computor anywhere...i've done everything else...i'm going to try and play game now...not sure what will happen..lol...Well, i got the same message...still won't work.....as soon as it trys to load, it stops..........can anyone tell me what to do.....Mark

Can't help much, but you might look into ddfix, as that cures the multi-processor problem.

Everything i wrote is from the ddfix, ur talking about......i was hoping someone who had already tried the fix would respond..It's unreadable, because u don't know anything about, what i'm talking about......if u haven't read about it u shouldn't be responding to my post..And u've moved my post, where noone even looks....thanks......Mark.....

downloaded tried to install....i get the message...i need a
6.0 or higher version of directx.....i know i have it....but i loaded my T3 game...which is working fine....click on install directx.....it was going to install directx 9b...when i tried it said i have a newer version....what do i do now???

First, i want to say, i'm sorry to shadak. We were talking, about two different fixes. I got my fix, from the Thief part of this forum. It is not the same, as the fix, from here. I posted it there because that is where i got the fix, hoping someone there had, used it. There is no Auto. fix, on the Thief Forum.
It helps, when everyone is talking, about the samething.

For those, who don't like the way I post. I've been, posting on the Thief Fm, part of this forum, for 4 years. Not once, has anyone complained, about the way I post. I did forget, that we have friends from all over the world, posting here, and trying to help, all of us. A little patience, from all, is the best thing. I admit, after spending many hours, reading and trying to find the problem, with my game. My patience was thin.

I will say, my bad comments, should not cause others to make bad comments as well. I know no one on this part of the forum. Do u treat all newcomers here, this way? I have never seen comments, like the ones posted here, on the Thief Forum.

After all that, i still need help. Is there anyone here, willing to help me?

My problem is this.
I have directx 10. I understand i need version 9, for the fix to work. When i try to install, version 9. Windows Vista, tells me i have a newer version and will not let me install. I need to uninstall Directx 10. I do not know how. It is not, in my add and remove programs. I believe, if someone can help me with this, I can handle the rest.

I am sure, I must have missed a period or something somewhere. But, please tell me someone can read this post. lol.

Umm, did you run imagecfg at all?

As far I know you don't need to downgrade to DirectX 9. DirectX 10 includes emulation layer for DirectX 9 and that layer should be compatible with earlier DirectX versions.

You probably need to get 1.1.1 version of ddfix, however. It appears that video card manufacturers are starting to drop legacy DirectX 6 stuff from their drivers.
