Would using distilled water, so impurities are removed, help at all?

(so I double posted)
Another recipe for MrD....
Purple Passion
- 2 ounces vodka (try a good potato vodka)
- 2 ounces grape juice (100% - none of that grape drink mix shit)
- 2 ounces grapefruit juice (as above)
- 1 or 2 teaspoons of fine sugar to taste (or agave syrup for better mixing)
Half fill a shaker with ice cubes, add the juices and swish around a bit to chill. Add the sugar then the vodka. Shake and shake, but not too long as to melt the ice too much. Pour into a highball glass and give it a little umbrella.
A nice, sweet drink with a festive color without using any artificially colored grenadine.
BTW: To make your own, all natural grenadine: Start by making a simple syrup (1 cup water to 1 cup of sugar, bring to boil, simmer while stirring constantly until all the sugar has dissolved) and add the juice of one fresh pomegranate. Shake well, and store in the fridge. It'll last for a month or so before you should make a fresh batch.

After having little luck with filtered water from the fridge, I used distiller water in my latest batch. Still pretty cloudy.

These sound so delicious. But I had to quit drinking. The last time I had anything to drink, I reinstalled Day of Defeat Source and have no memory of doing so.

Okay it's getting better: boil twice, then pour while still hot, and cover with foil for freezing. I'd say my ice is about 85% clear now, and even the parts that aren't clear are awesome: hundreds of tiny bubbles in swooshing patterns.

Dark N' Stormy
Equal parts Gosling's Black Seal Rum and Ginger Beer over ice. (not ginger ale)
Go heavier on the rum if you wish. A wedge of lime is nice sometimes as well.

Aja, do you have that first icecube pic in 1280x1024 or larger? I'd love it as my desktop.
