hmm I like garlic, tastes good, combine it with chili and lime and bam! even better. Same with booze.

Well.....I appreciate the comments, but:
A)I like me a nice sweet drink from time to time. But truth be told, I ain't no drinker per se, just someone who enjoys a nice mix. And that includes faggy fancy drinks ;)
B)I don't drink to get smashed, nuh-uh. My interest in a good mixed drink is for taste and trying new stuff. Drinks are more like food for me, and as such, I'm always curious for the new flavor, I don't do it to pretend anything, fs.... Don't do the hard drinking neither, lads, sorry to disappoint :o
C)I've really liked some of the appletinis I've tasted, just wanted to be able to mix one for meself :(:(:(
Is the piña colada ok at least? ;D

It's your palate. Treat it any way you like. The macho boozers can complain all they want.
Your taste, your reasons, your choice.
We love you anyway. :)
Just a minor note: As you are located in my Large intestine, be aware that you are slowly moving toward eviction. :ebil:

Thanks Blacky, but mind you, it doesn't mean at all that I ain't open to suggestions. Pile'em up and if I find'em intriguing (i.e. tasty sounding) enough, I'll bite and try to mix it :), s'cool.

How about a favored drink of the Phillipines from my era (the 50's).
One beer ( average 12 oz)
One half can Coka Cola
1 oz gin.
Same glass, and an ice cube or two.
GIN-BEER-COKE it was called. Very tricky name. :)
Or that favorite of cheap bars.
Take the last teaspoon, tablespoon, 1/4 to 1/2 ounce of every bottle in your inventory (Liquours, gin, whiskey, rye, scotch, retsina, absinthe, whatever) pour into a common bottle.
Used to be called the "HONG KONG FLUSH" Never the same twice (unless from the same bottle on the same day).
Worst tasting drink in the universe, but a cheap drunk :D

My clear ice cube project has been a failure so far. I'd say the cubes are maybe 20% clearer than regular frozen tap water but there's still big white sections in the center of each cube. I guess it's air getting in there still. Maybe I should boil the water three times.

maybe I should boil it a hundred times

Get yourself a Lewis bag, smash'em up, and refreeze'em, adding a little more water as "glue."
Mr.Duck on 23/11/2010 at 15:14
Er....and in case I can't get a Lewis bag?
:o

What exactly do you mean? Molson? Heineken? Stella? Corona? Becks?
All of the above except Heineken and Corona (could never get a taste for either of these). Also Guinness, New Castle, Murphy's, Smithwick's, Dos Equis and Red Stripe are a few other of my favorites off the top of my head.

There are tons of good microbrewed beers made in the US that kick the shit out of the more popular imports, for a mere $5 more per case. With a general statement like "I drink imports almost exclusively," it sounds like you might be brainwashed into believing that something from somewhere else is better than anything here. It also sounds like you have little to no experience with any domestic beer other than the mass-producers Anheuser-Busch, Molson Coors, Miller, and the like (and Yeungling, of course.) It also makes you sound like an ignorant beer snob wannabe.
It's true that I haven't dabbled with microbrews and I may give it a shot after hearing this. I've been quite satisfied with most imports that I've tried and for typically about the same price and accessibility as domestic mass produced beer there's never been much of a reason to look elsewhere.
