moving house... - by wun

is fun but also tedious as hell....
too much crap to move and re-position...
anyway.. i built the hllalu stronghold and decided it sucks severely..
so i decided i would move from the balmore council club into nerano manor.
so i gave ol' nerano some shit.. which ended up in fisty cuffs and i boxed him
to death...
but i think this is the last time i move.... i mean pickin up stuff is ok
just puttin it back down is tedious... like i had to empty my crates of
ingredients... easy *click* 'take all'.. but where is the dump all button
or the ability to highlight multiple items a'la drag n drop??
*sigh*

Hrm.. you probably already know this trick, but just in case you don't... to grab all of one item from your inventory (ie: 99 sload soap) without using the 'how many do you want to move?' dialogue, hold down shift; it just grabs all you have and bypasses that annoying dialogue altogether.
wun on 9/8/2002 at 02:20
yeah.. still...
i emptied out my crates of ingredients... and u still have like
200 different types...
oh and for some reason.. the small chest on top of the dresser
in narano's bedroom makes things disappear..
i lost a bunch of extravagant & exquisite jewellery pieces i been
saving to put some enchantment on...
the dresser is fine and so is the closet... just the small chest is
wonky... u can put things in and get them out... once u save
though... everthing's gone... i tested the other storeage items
they are all fine...
lucky i didn't put the 6 sanguine items in the small chest...
Forsythe on 9/8/2002 at 02:33
*nod* Yeah, it's still a pain I'm sure. I got tired of accumulating things so I made myself a plugin w/ all my usual stuff in huge supply (1000 of each ingredient, etc)
As for items disappearing, yeah, that's a much-discussed bug in the game; basically, any chest that originally had something in it has the possibility of 'eating' items. I'm a little puzzled in your case, though, as all three containers you mention originally had items in them.
wun on 9/8/2002 at 13:48
well i hope nothing else starts eating my items.. i would be pretty 'annoyed'...
so far it seems the small chest is the only item eater...
when i lived in the council club (which has been the majority of the game sofar)...
none of the containers where item eaters...
btw aren't some chests supposed to respawn their contents??
i thought the fighters guild chests were suppossed to refill after
a month or so... so far none of them have... and a few months have passed...
i don't really care.. none of the items are of any interest to me.. i have to make
my own potions and so forth that actually are adequate for my stats... but i was
wondering none the less....
Forsythe on 9/8/2002 at 16:41
They're supposed to, yeah; I've never checked as I rarely need their contents. I think the construction kit's docs mentioned something like "every 40 days", but I may be off. I'll double-check that unless someone else beats me to it.

4 months. And only organic containers can be set to respawn (FG & MG supply chests are organic).
Forsythe on 9/8/2002 at 19:57
*grin* Yah, the name of that toggle (ie: 'organic') really twisted my brain for a few in the context of a supply chest, until I realised that that's how herb bushes, etc., are rigged up. That way, they can respawn their contents after X time.

*sigh* you can have a house in morrowind?
wun on 12/8/2002 at 01:47
hahaha yeah u can...
u just move into some house...
moving in means... this is where i dump all the stuff i can't sell..
excess potions.. treasure i don't want to sell ( i have a pretty
precious jewels collection).. my alchemy set and ingredients for
potions..
first i lived in the orc thief's house in balmora u had to kill for the fighter's guild..
then i lived in the balmora council club.. after i killed everyone in there for the
guy at the fort...
now i am living in narano manor in balmora because the council club got too small...
and the stronghold they build for me sucked...
and i think i gonna stay there.. cos i just got tooo much stuff that is tooo much hassle
to lug around again... although i found this cool smugglers cave that was just too cool..
but a bit outta the way... so i am stayin where i am now..
