How many was that?
It may be fine when you play but at the mo it looks a bit much.
I only need be seen when activated a la health in the Thief 3 videos.
Altering it may take numerous forms too -size, contrast, position, shape. I could go on. But I can't be arsed.

I think the main problem in relation to us PC gamers is that all the footage we've seen to date in regards to Thief III and Invisible War is that it's been seen on a television monitor in front of hundreds of people screaming, and with huge ass interface elements. Once the team shows us some PC type gamelay vids and smaller and less dumb looking interface element sizes, we might sing a different tune. But I sure hate being shown something and expected to drool when it's obviously meant to please people who are less fussy about their forms of entertainment.:erg:

Only about 4 people ... but that's no-one who complained about it. So so far, they are looking pretty good. And Chris Carello at least claimed that everyone he asked for honest opinion's at E3 said they liked it, so I guess it's up to you to decide how far you trust that.
I'm not sure what nethawk means about being fussy ... I'm quite proud of being more fussy about the game then the pop-up messages, personally ...
But yes, the pop-up messages are way too big. I imagine/hope it was done like that for the purposes of E3, in which most people would be a long distance from the display. And it WAS the console version on display. I really can't imagine why on earth they would make it that large for the PC version. In fact, I don't even see how it would need to be that large for the XBOX version. What we really need is a high-quality trailer.
EDIT: I rather suspect that we've seen the last publicity before the ramp-up for release, however.

Yeah, same. Let's hope. Ah what the hell - I'm excited either way. Looks pretty sweet regardless.:erg:

I've just watched the videos, and apart from the too large and obstrusive popup windows, I barely noticed the HUD at all to be honest :)
Anyway, didn't Ion Storm that say you could adjust the transparency of the HUD to suit your tastes?
SubJeff on 9/7/2003 at 08:08
Did they? Good.
The pop-up windows are too big but they are also transparent.

Gonna try that! Thank you for the link.
