I've decided to find out more about that mysterious little item I found in my attic a couple years ago. It's a Eumig Electric movie camera, virtually identical to (

The only difference is my camera doesn't have that extra lens attachment, and the sticker that appears to be in the battery compartment is different on mine. Also, on the bottom of my camera, there's the number "430794" engraved in it.
The closest I've gotten to finding out how old it might be is that it was first made in 1955, but I'd like to find out when they stopped producing this camera, at the least. This camera belonged to my father's side of the family, and my mom thinks it was bought before they came over to Germany in 1956. However, everything is labeled in English, with the battery warning in 3 languages; English, French, and German, in that order. It sounds a lot more like it was bought in Canada.
If you guys could lend a hand with tracking down how old this little curiousity is, I'd really appreciate it. :thumb: Researching while overtired is not my area of expertise.

Try a Google for "antique Cameras" you should find a couple hundred sellers buyers and appraisers.
Take a photo and send it to one or two of them with your questions. Hell, you might even get a offer to buy it.

Two words: Antiques Roadshow!
No, seriously. You might even get on T.V.

I ended up finding my way back to the site which said what year the Eumig electrics were first produced, and wrote the guy who runs the site. Googling really didn't help much. There's plenty of people interested in regular antique cameras, but movie cameras? Not that I could find. :erm:
I don't know much about Antique Roadshow, but the name sounds familiar. I doubt they'd be interested in it, I think this camera's missing a lens cap, and the sliding door over the battery compartment is broken. :p
