Hi there,
Topic describes the problem I'm having with Deus ex. I'm playing under windows XP and I've edited with regedit so that mouse acceleration is off in windows. It helps me get better headshots in Wolf:ET but when I play Deus Ex, there seems to be an exaggerated mouse acceleration here that is giving me serious trouble aiming at all straight.
Anyone suggest a console command or command line that would disable mouse acceleration in Deus ex?

I've never heard of unoptional Mouse acceleration, It's a kind of thing that usually is turned off, so either you switched it on, or the mouse driver did that (Logitech drivers probably do that if I recall correctly).
Anyway, to get rid of it you should simply turn it off in Control Panel ==> Mouse settengs
If it doesn't help, open your specific mouse software ad try to uncheck it there, if it still soesn't switch off Try uninstalling the Mouse software, or updating driver, or even deleting your Mouse from Device Manager, to let windows install it onece again.
Strange issue anyway...

Try enabling/disabling the directdraw acceleration for input devices in Deus Ex advanced options.

Check it out, its me again 4 years later, still with the same problem.
With a bit of smart googling I found I can set the directinput variable in deusex.ini to True to get a lovely responsive mouse. That doesn't work in the menus.
Any suggestions for how to move things around in your inventory?

If you're on XP, look up CPL mouse fix. Apply, restart.
It doesn't completely eliminate the problem, but it brings it down to a manageable level.

Or if it works okay in game then just use the arrow keys in the menus?

Thanks for this, I'd forgotten to apply the mousefix after a format. Its a great improvement but still not quite ideal. Now it only flips between two different speeds, instead of about 6.

Is this possible? The Alt+* shortcuts work fine, but I can't pick up and move around inventory objects. Did they not include buttons for hypothetical keyboard-only players to use?
What would be most ideal of all is creating some kind of key bind that toggles the use of directinput between true and false - but I presume this would require restarting the game and so would be useless anyway?

Shit I was thinking main menu only. I'm sure what you are saying could be done. Chris the cynic or DDL are the guys who know everything there is to know about this stuff.

Wouldn't the windows accessibility option "MouseKeys" work? I know it's a hell of a clunky workaround, but hey, the game would be playable.
