Has anyone else experienced issues with the quest to speak to Barenziah? I'm obliged to speak with her, but when I arrive she simply asks me what I want and acts stupid. I can't figure it out! :(
I'm hugely disappointed that I've encountered this problem. It's slowly killing me, in fact, that I've been halted during my scarce weekend freetime and that I likely won't be able to return to the game for a while again! Time is wasting away! Arrrg :)

Far as I can tell, it's not a bug, it's just a... um... a problem with the two-fold nature of your main task-givers in Mournhold.
Eventually, you'll find a good reason to talk to her. You'll be directed to speak with her about something important by someone other than the King's right-hand man.
For me, that cleared the Talk To The Queen flag in my journal. Hope that was vague enough :thumb:
If you're really a look-for-your-Christmas-presents-in-your-parents'-closet kind of person: You'll be looking for pieces of an old Dwenmer sword. The queen has info about it.
