I garee with ascottk; not being the good map-maker myself at the moment, I even haven't gone through the whole Komag tut yet. But I have some fluff ideas I think. But we all should really be devoted then for such a project, otherwise there's a strong possibility that such project just dies unfinished. . .

I think a community project would be great. In fact I was going to suggest it myself after I finished my FM. But it definately shouldn't be anything as drainingly long as T2X. And also, it should wait till after the next contest to launch.
Z, if you want ideas, I would love to see a proper rooftop mission, like Life of the Party, something that was sorely missing from T3.

Thats exactly what i was missing here all the time!! Lets push the community! I'd love to work together with you. I am totally of ascottks oppinion!!!!! I have an idea for a first step to push the T3ED community forward: All those editors who take part in komags recent contest should be able to talk about their missions. I know that this would be a bit incorrect if we want to evaluate the editor's talent, but we could all learn of their problems. And it would contribute to the community very much!! I'd really love to see more threads in the t3editing guild!!!!!

I must admit, I am being all hush hush because of wanting to respect the annonymity clause in contest 7. It'd be good not to roll straight into the next contest come March, give us chance to what-ever-the-word-is.
I'd be up for a bit of community action - though I'm beavering away on C7 for a little while yet.
I've gone and made a (

Password:
ryhmes with carrot. Capital G. Two 't's
Might be fun for sketching out story/location/character ideas and the like before getting into the nitty gritty.

Totally agree with the posts on this thread. This community is a bit run-down at the moment... my excuse is that I'm working on a game that I hope to sell as shareware. :) So modding sort of fell into second place after that... but I still intend to fix up my C6 entry at some point. Promise! I also have the beginnings of a shell of the beginnings of a C7 entry, but seriously no guarantees on
that one.
By the way Jay, your link got messed up and for some reason it redirects me to Microsoft.com when I click it. :wot: ... probably Firefox trying to be clever and doing a Google I'm Feeling Lucky search on it. :laff: Here's the fixed link:

Hmn awkward! It worked perfectly for me and i use Firefox too (BTW the best browser out there^^). But anyway! It would be really great to work out something like that project!!! But at first we must know how many editors would take part in it and what they do.
Crispy on 4/1/2006 at 01:01
Heh, looks like he fixed the link just before I posted. Scooped again! :)
I think it's a great idea, but I can't commit to anything - I already have enough projects for one year. (And it's only the third of January! )

A (mini-)campaign/community project was bound to happen eventually. BTW, sorry Z for hijacking the thread :D I don't think it's too soon to start organizing such a project though.
Ziemanskye on 4/1/2006 at 09:53
Hijack away - I still haven't really got anywhere (I have a technical concept - I want to try doing a map without lights - just the minilight, fog and particle effects, to see what it looks like), but this community project sounds like an interesting idea.
STiFU on 4/1/2006 at 11:07
Hmn sounds interesting! So you mission will probably have to do with a graveyard, or will play early in the morning in some valley.
I recently thought of something funny: Had Garrett ever been to some totally other place? To some place that is equal to the Caribean see for example? I don't know whether this would be too absurd or not, but it would definitely be an interesting challenge!!! :) Perhaps we could add something like that to our community project. Or just something that feels closer to nature than the usual Pagan-FMs. Garrett could be hunting down some guy, but he flees into a forest, or even further to this caribean place... ;) hehe!! I'd love to see something like that in Flesh... :cheeky:
