As thread title. I already have the processor and memory, but since the board that I originally bought, the Gigabyte GA-EP43-D3SL, arrived dead, I'm looking for alternatives, since the RMA is taking forever and I might as well buy a newer CPU and newer RAM before I get the board back. =)
Anyone mind recommending some alternatives?
(Yes I could go on a search by myself, but it's easier to ask people who have been in the market for a new board themselves...)

Ok, what is your budget, what are you fav manufacturers.. and do you have a chipset preference..

Thanks for answering the bikersignal! (Someone really needs to make that an animated gif or something. :cheeky:)
Not really on a budget. I'd probably prefer Gigabyte or Asus, since those are the boards I previously owned and never really had problems with. Still got the Asus one which is still fine. Anyway, I heard that Intel has some good boards too, but I don't really know if they go well with games.
I'm mainly getting stuff upgraded so I can play Eve Online while I browse the web and burn subtitles in an HD or SD movie (because the 360 doesn't support subs. :erg:)
Also not sure if I want to go with an SLI board or not. One the one hand I'm thinking I might, but on the other hand, I might not since I think the 7600GT I currently have is still fairly good and by the time I decide to get a new videocard, I might already be thinking about upgrading the mainboard again. (ie. 2½ years?)

If you want SLI, I believe you're limited to nvidia chipsets which are a little inferior to the intel chipsets for overclocking. I've got an ASUS P5N-T Deluxe 780i and while it's a very solid board and looks cool, I was hoping to get a better overclock out of it, considering the price.
EDIT: just downloaded the new nvidia drivers and it says they add SLI support to X58 chipsets, so I guess you can get SLI on some intel chipsets. It may well just be the newest ones though which are no doubt hellishly expensive.

I think every new thread in the tech support forums should begin with that pic.

€80-180?
I can get another GA-EP43-D3SL within a day. So maybe I should just stick with that.
Also, 1066Mhz seems like a really weird clockspeed. There's loads more boards that do 1333Mhz. Why's that? I'm guessing 1066Mhz is the highest you can get with DDR2 and 1333Mhz and up are for DDR3 memory.
