Please, please, please leave classics alone, instead of destroying good memories (and writing) with your endless pursuit of a buck. Isn't the good widow Belson making enough off royalties?!

... the first
two books are
the only ones worth reading.
I always wonder why no one seems to notice that.

Perhaps because life's too short to make much of a fuss about correct language usage?

You three stop derailing the thread to talk about grammar.

Yes, this. The first two books are absurd-but-still-solid humorous sci-fi, but the subsequent novels read like a series of disconnected jokes. There are clever bits, yeah, but the central narrative thread just isn't there.
Also: he wasn't talking about grammar you retards.

Personally, my favorite Adam's book is The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul. This one got me through a very, very difficult time. :erg: :(

Hitchhiker's guide: Brilliant
Restaurant: Brilliant
L,tU,aE: Okay
So long: Pretty bad
Mostly Harmless: Awful
I just pretend the first three were the only books.

So the series went in the crapper at the end. It's the fucking principal of the thing. How final did the man have to make it? He killed every goddamned character at the end of the last book. How retarded can his widow be to imagine he would have liked the series to continue? And who the fuck is gonna buy it?
