The first 5 season of the X-Files were good.
4. Season 5 suffered from some terrible episodes and overly complicated the mythos. The whole series feels like it was rushed out the door so they could focus on the movie. Then the movie came along and was great, but upped the ante so much that season 6 could never live up to it, and it all went downhill from there.
Having said that, season 5 does contain the episode Folie a Deux, which makes up for the entire rest of the season by being utterly terrifying.

That's most likely true, as I mentioned, I only watched episodes ever now and then at the time and I usually use the movie as the cut off point. I managed to catch some of the earlier ones with repeats, but I still missed a ton of classic episodes. Too bad you can't watch X-Files repeats on TV anymore.

I wonder if one of these internet TV station players has the x-files to download...?

Seems like Hulu would grab it. They've got the entire Buffy the fucking Vampire Slayer series.

I like it when people make an effort to express their apathy.
