I had a bad feeling about that. . .

The timing is pretty awkward, although I couldn't tell by that trailer as to whether it's 'too little.' Good luck trying to create a buzz about this one, really, although I'm planning on watching it, hype or no hype.

I think a lot of X-Files fans from days long gone are waking up to go see this film. It's actually on the radar of several people I know, neither of whom have watched the series in years.

I'm sure there are many lanky-haired canadians who are feverishly awaiting this.

lanky-haired?

Yes, lanky-haired.

Got some badass necromancy here, but I ain't seeing no reason to bust a new thread out for this.
The Dark Knight started me on a midnight showing kick, and I figured it'd be neat to catch another movie right out the game. Well, long story short, I got exactly what I was expecting. A well written, souped up, high budget episode of the X-Files. If you're expecting a reinvention of the series, you'll be disappointed. If you're wanting more of the same stuff you loved back when, then it'll be like getting a visit from a long overdue friend.
In retrospect, I think I should've saved my money for the DVD. It was good. But really, what you've got here is basically a 2 part episode of the X-Files. It's better suited for watching at home.

I was always meh on the x-files.
but Millennium was the best show on TV back then. So Chris Carter was doing something right. He just shouldn't have tried to do both series at the same time.

Millennium was an excellent show that was dragged down by a constant change in executive producers every season, who all had different takes on the material. Chris Carter originally envisioned it to be a character-centered crime drama with supernatural underpinnings, while Morgan and Wong were more oriented towards X-Files Jr. Both camps have their fans, I'm more privy to the former. Lance Hendriksen has said on numerous occasions that he'd be happy to do a Millenium movie.
The first 5 season of the X-Files were good. Unfortunately, I only watched the show casually then and ended up watching it more regularly after the show started going down the tube after the first movie. So, Renzatic, is the new movie more like a good episode from the early seasons, or a bad episode from the later ones?
