I use to love that show when it first aired. Looking forward to this one.

I really should watch the X-Files on DVD one of these days. Pity that shit costs more than your mom.
It's not that bad anymore, you can buy the entire series on DVD for around $130.00.
Maybe this just seems cheap to me since I'd paid around this much for each season a few years back.

Have you ever watched twin peaks? I mean I'm a crappy sci-fi nut and the show sucked, but I had the advantage of being like 8 when I saw it the first time.
I own the DVDs and am currently rewatching the first season, it's still one of my favourite shows.

I'm looking forward to this because it's being done as a feature length stand alone episode, instead of more tedious X-Files mythology. And Chris Carter has dropped hints that a dead character (or characters) may be coming back in it. Here's hoping for the Lone Gunmen.
They died?
Then after catching another interview, Scully has a kid?
Well, uh, I'd
rather it was the tedious mythology than stuff I would've had to have watched another four or five years of tedious seasons in order to understand.
The mythology stuff ended up becoming the bugbear that eventually crushed the show, but initially it was what really caught the public's imagination. All the Cigarette Smoking Man, government conspiracy, clones and alien assassin stuff (in the beginning) was really brilliant and was pretty original too. Most of the other stuff they did was simply Twilight Zone / Outer Limits fare, not that a lot of it wasn't good but still, it was what it was.

Every time I see this thread, I think it is about Star Wars: Episode 1.

Hey! Is this where I board the 'X-Files sucks' bandwagon? Ya know, cuz like, it's old and stuff. And I wasn't one of the 191281871720118192 people who made it popular back in the day because I was cool and way ahead of my time, not like you guys who are looking forward to it.
Also, I knew Phantom Menace would suck before I even saw the trailer.
 :erg:

Phantom Menace and The X Files are both awesome.

Yeah, thanks to Ep1, we now know that the Force is actually the result of cooties.
Aja on 27/2/2008 at 08:34
Like that makes any difference to anything, at all.
Really.
Oh oh my stupid space movie from 1999 isn't as good as my stupid space movie from 1977
Ko0K on 27/2/2008 at 08:54
Well, at least we agree on X-Files.
