Morrowind has just gone from strength to strength in the past couple of months. This information will probably be old news to most of you but I just felt like writing it down because I'm so pleased with what the game's turned into.
First of all back in November (
http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/modcontrols/mods.asp) 'TLM - The Lighting Mod' (search for 'lighting') was released. This makes sneaking a viable concern for the game at last, makes light sources look wonderful, and scares the hell out of me whenever I'm dungeon crawling. I like the complete version but the modular one works well too. Combined with the (
http://thelys.mwsource.com/index.php?morrowindmods=True&authorpage=Intelligentsia) Marksman mod this mod feels very Thiefy.
I'm not sure when this next one was released - the 'Real Skys' (edit: it's called Joyful Morrowind Sky pack, temporary link (
http://www.alexnolan.co.uk/downloads/Joyful_morrowind_sky_pack_0.9.rar) here) replacer mod gives some incredible backdrops. Today I saw the 'Clear Night time' sky for the first time and had to stop playing for a few minutes to stargaze. Sorry not sure where the official home of this mod is.
The (
http://khalazza.production.free.fr/all_plugins.php) Morrowind Visual Pack (link to version 2.11), always a must have mod, had an update to 2.2 (erm, try searching the official ES forums) the other day, which continues the good work of making textures across the island look like they're out of a newly released game.
(
http://www.psychodogstudios.net/betterbodies/) Better Bodies and (
http://www.psychodogstudios.net/betterheads) Better Heads are both out at last!!! Stunning work which doesn't seem to have dented my frame rate at all. Look out for better clothes to go with them soon.
The (
http://www.etherealsoftware.com.au/ltm/download.htm) Unofficial Morrowind Patch has fixed pretty much every problem with the game. I've been able to stop using about 15 other 'fix' plugins.
Various tools (e.g. (
http://www34.brinkster.com/ghostwheel/TESTool.zip) TESTool) released recently have let me first clean my files, merge level lists, objects and dialogs, and then find and resolve conflicts so that now I have 90 odd plugins and not a single warning when loading the game!
All this and my current character is still only level one and messing around in Peligrad!
Ok, that's all I have to say just now.

Morrowind really is a great game... Unfortunately, I don't think I've tried even one of the mods you mentioned. You don't happen to know of a program that will clean up my data files folder and delete all the unused meshes and textures? I've got a LOT of them wasting space...

Heh, not one that does it all at once. Fortunately it's on my 34 gig partition, and uses up a mere 2.18 gig! There is a prog where you tell it which esp, and it lists all the files for that esp, but if it doesnt do all of them it's not much good for you.
I'll try and find links for all those 'must have' mods above (will edit the post), you can't live without them after they're installed. I fired the game up tonight and I'm suddenly getting a minimum FPS of 18 - hoping it's the latest Catalyst 4.2 drivers that have done the trick.

See if there's a readme file included in the zip\rar\ace file you downloaded, often the creator of a mod provides an adress to his website or an email adress for feedback and bugreports. The original sky is amazing enough as it is, but I'd like to try out this mod you mentiond though. Sounds awesome.

Dug it out, it's called Joyful Morrowind Sky Pack. There is a readme but if you want the file I'll host it for now, just click (
http://www.alexnolan.co.uk/downloads/Joyful_morrowind_sky_pack_0.9.rar) here (768K). It is a replacer so remember to back up first. Come to think of it I can't remember what the sky was like before, and there doesn't appear to be any files in the replacer for night times, so perhaps I was looking at an original backdrop when I did my stargazing!

Thanks Nanol, I'll try it later today as I just downloaded the file from your link.
Btw, I found some pics from a Morrowindmod in the works, it seems to change the world of morrowind completely. It might be a mod worth trying when it's done, even if it's just for the coolness of having a television set in your house or a car parked outside. :)
Here's the pics-link: (

I'd reinstall Morrorun just to be able to drive a hummer around. Tell those clowns that are making that mod to give me a drivable hummer.

Drivable hummer,,,,,,, cool :)
Now here's some pics from a mod that will change the way morrowind look completely, I can barely wait for this one :cheeky:

I like the curly white bridges. looks like one of those plugins that might actually change too much though - i've still not reached level 2 with my character after months of meaning to find time to play Morrowind, so there's no point in my applying drastic changes just yet.
