I know that EBgames and Bethesda have the game for sale, but Bethesda charges 9.50$ to ship the book to Canada and EBgames copy is 5$ more than Bethesda - does anyone know anywhere else that also has it available? Thanks ahead of time. Peace.

... 'strategy' guide for MW??
Who would need this? The game is easy... try doing it without some poorly written guide holding your hand.

Actually I am not interested in the guide for the cheats and walkthrough, but b/c I have been told that the in-game manual is lacking and does not explain game mechanics all that well. Make sense? Peace.

Game manual? Mechanics?
Bah.
I got a warezed copy, and never took a look at the manual...
The game is too easy to require this help!!
=D

Well for any who might care, I have found the book in Canada at (
www.camelot.ca) Camelot and the sweet thing is they ship in-country for free - peace.

=D Ditto here. The only thing I had trouble with was picking pockets (eventually figured it out), and soul-trapping/enchanting. I read a few threads in here and blammo, I knew how to do both.
I got the Collector's Edition eventually, however...felt pretty bad pouring hours and hours into the game and then not paying for it *shrug*.
I recommend against the strategy guide - got questions, come here for answers that are probably more accurate - and definitely there's more gameplay experience floating around here than in a strat guide (from my experience with strat guides). Then there's always this page ((
http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/game/3365.html)) on GameFaqs!

Actually, the manual is surprisingly complete. I think people are put off in that it is also fairly compact; thus they presume that whatever they need to know can't possibly be in the manual, so they don't bother to look. I made that mistake wondering how exactly the various alchemical apparatus worked; I found my answer on the Net and completely missed the fact that alchemy and its associated apparatus are explained completely (and compactly!) on page 40 of the PC version manual.
While the strategy guide might be nice to have to serve as an "official" overview of the game and its many quests, I think the average player competent enough to browse and search the various Morrowind forums and sites on the Internet will not be missing anything if they do not pick up the strategy guide.

i have to imagine this ruins the game like all guides do. Especially this game though. I mean this game is about surprises and exploring maybe it will help on skills and enemies

For whatever it's worth, I am not buying the guide for the cheat/walkthrough, but I am hoping it has in-depth charts on alchemy, weapons, creatures, skill relations and such. Yes I have done a lot of checking on certain aspects of the game, but when in the middle of the game and I want to know the relationship of one ingredient to another, hierachy of armour I come across, I expect a guide to help me that moment. Ok all done ;) Peace.

Bleh, suprises my ass...
Just barely started the game, and something ran into my head, "Kwizatch Haderach"... no more suprises.
I wouldn't read the guide if it was free. The load of crap it probably is, made by some hasty 'professional' with a degree in purty writin'. Fawk that.
