The patch is now avaliable at (
www.morrowind.com) and does some pretty good stuff. It adds a health bar for the monster you are currently fighting and also adds a dificulty slider. Of course, it fixes bugs too. Just remember to run it in the Morrowind directory itself, I had to copy it there to get it to go past 50%.

I have to say, I don't think want a monster health bar. Kinda destroys the immersion for me (as if looking up occasionally and realizing that I'm sitting in a chair staring at a monitor doesn't do that enough). <strike>I'm downloading now</strike> - I'll have to see if you can turn it off.
It looks like this is an application... <strike>how does that affect the No-CD crack? Anyone have any bright ideas on this?</strike>
UPDATE: Ok, it seems to have no effect on the No-CD crack. BUT, it does affect your plugins, and potentially your savegames, as said below. What's odd is that I only have one of the the Official plugins running (the Entertainer plugin), so you'd think that Bethesda would support its own plugin with the patch. I fear that others running more advanced mods might run into trouble. I think it remains to be seen how much trouble this will cause.

Hmm.. The patch seems to have destroyed my save games.. Not that i mind as i was planning to start over with a new char but it might suck for some people.
Funny note about Morrowind saves:
Let`s say that you name a save "Alcaster" and then another one as "Alcaster and stuff" both these are saved into a "Alcaster000.ess" file. So don`t name your saves the same if you plan on deleting a save.

For some reason, they didn't make this a ZIP file with an external ReadMe. You can only see the ReadMe once you install the patch, and some people might not
want the fixes this details (ex: it fixes the "Infinite Money" bug in the Ralen Hllalo murder quest). So, in the interest of the common good, I'm going to post a link to the readme for people to view before downloading. Again, there aren't a lot of good reasons why someone
wouldn't want the patch, but if all of this bandwidth can help only one lowly quester, then it was all worth it.

This patch is for the US version of Morrowind only. The European version will be released soon.

Pardon what may sound like a silly question---
But if this patch is NOT compatible with current saves, then you have to start all over if you patch?

All you should need to do is load your savegame (you might get a pop-up about an out-dated, incompatible or missing file - ignore it) then re-save. Everything should be groovy.
If you use mods, apparently you'll need to load each mod into the TES construction set and then save (in the construction set). Do this for each mod. (Mod-makers who've already released mods will have to do this too.) Then run the game, load your savegame, re-save, and everything should be ok.
Bethesda will be releasing "new" versions of the official mods they've already released on Friday, I hear. You won't have to load these into the construction set to run them.
Ain't it fun? :)

I could be totally wrong on this:
The patch is only incompatible with current saves that use plugins or mods, and only with those portions of the savegame that are affected by the plugin or mod.
So, if you have heavy plugin action, some aspects of your savegame might not be there. I think that's the jist of it.

Sorry about my incoherent post. Edited; see above. ;)

How large is the file? (My currently broken computer will not have net access when it gets fixed (WHY WON'T YOU GET BROADBAND, FATHER? WHY?!?!?!?), and I'll have to transport it to my computer by other means.
