Striker has it made. I didn't even use a monitor the second time around in Morrowind. Not using a monitor the first time around is ludicrous.
If only all of us could be as rich as fancy pants Striker with his monitor AND graphical card.

I had stuttering up the wazoo when I first installed MW. I finally fixed it with a tip buried deep on the official boards.
This was to reduce my hardware acceleration for *sound* in windows (either DXdiag or control panel, can't remember which) by a notch, to 'standard'. Hope it helps, I only got to this after tremendous amounts of dicking around (entire days spent trying to get a no-cd crack to work, thinking it might have been the copy protection).
I actually recommend you chuck the fucker right out, along with all your other games, and walk the streets instead.

Well, it doesn't just depend on your screen card but also your memory, cpu speed and virtual memory on your hard drive. I use...I think... a 128mb GeForce2 MMX 400. Sounds about right with 256mb RAM, ALOT of VR RAM and my cpu is clocked at just over 1600MHz for some stupid reason. Morrowind lags a bit in V.Large areas and even worse in blight storms. There is one thing thinking about it now you could try. On Morrowind, set your screen res to 800x600 with minimal settings (no shadows). Then, I think it's in your control panel where you can edit the GUIs' options. If your using XP, take out some of the "fluffy" looks. NOTE: "Fluffy" is just my weird term for fancy and not essential. And also change the options to make your memory work harder for programs instead of the operating system.
Whew! That's a mouthful... all you have to do is play around with your graphics settings. That pretty much how I learned everything I know about my computer.

Thanks but... I already uninstalled it. I did what I could [including turning the music off AND setting the max FPS to 30] but it still gets jeryky after awhile. Oh well, I'll wait for my Xbox and then I'll get it for it then...

I just started playing Morrowind this week and I've only got a GeForce 2. It's a bit jerky at times, yeah, but no more so than any other memory-hungry game (eg UT2004). Certainly not unplayable. Persevere.
