Morrowind COMPLETE Newbie... need mods help - by allspamhere

Hello,
First time poster here. I don't even have Morrowind yet. I won it off ebay last week and it should arrive this week. As a former AD&D "nerd" throughout college, this sounds EXACTLY like the kind of game I would love. In fact, the game pushed me over the edge and I finally bought a new computer which will arrive Friday.... Am I nuts, or what?
But what has me most intrigued is all of these mods I keep reading about. I have never played a game with mods before. How do I use 'em? Do they screw up the original game if they aren't well made? How about the quality of these mods? And, finally, what is your favorite mod, and where can I DL it?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

How you use mods vary from game to game, Morrowind has one of the most seamless implementations I've seen. To use a plugin (the Morrowind name for mods) you A) get it from somewhere (or make your own) B) Unzip/copy it to the 'Data Files' directory (some will require you to move a few files to a different folder, the readme should tell you so) C) Select it in the launcher (the Data Files option)
Most of the plugins will integrate into your current games without any errors but some of them don't play well together. The quality of plugins vary much, some are brilliant and some aren't worth the time it takes to read the description (most are between those two extremes;)) try looking at (
