Yeah I just borrowed morrowind from a friend on the fly last friday night. I was like, "Meh I guess Ill try this game out". Then I got into it and now the only thing I can think or talk about is how Im going to get the 70 pound armor off of on of the mages I killed in ashthamalia from there to my secret stash in Ald Ruhn. Cause like that armor is worth 30000 septims!!!! Anyways, the problem is I cant seem to get to sleep at night. I just keep going over my plans over and over again. You know how some ppl call everquest, evercrack for its addicting appeal. Know I know what it feels like. Needless to say Im hocked. (problem is I was just going to borrow it until I got my new game wednesday called spellforce. So now Ill have two games to play, and I hate juggling games.) Anyone ever had this happen to them or does anyone play morrowind.
Another thing about morrowind is the fact that if you steal something in the city and then go to try to talk to the guards your guys AUTOMATICALLY turns himself in. What they should have done is make it a topic to discuss with the guards and not something you automatically do.
Also, HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO MIX STUFF AND MAKE POTIONS. I have only found two books on alchemy in my travels to the various cities and places. One I stole from a mage at wolverine hall. The other I bought in Balmora I think. But there so vague I wouldnt know where to start. The one book (flora of tamriel) just tells you about the various plants and the effect they have one you. The other (the alchemists something or other) tells you what to mix together but not what to use to mix them together. I have all four alchemic instruments but Im unsure about how to use them. Any help would be cool. Other than that just discuss the problems you've ever had with new games. Or talk about how your finals for school are stressing you out. I dont care.

About potions: You dont have to see the actual whatnot of the ingredients, but you can just throw stuff in randomly to see if they mix if you dont have the patience to make one type of potion (restore fatigue must be the easiest) until you get your alchemy up.
Bethesda was plain lazy with the stealing in the game. You cant bluff and if you get caught every person on the island knows your a thief, simply dont get caught.

As far as how to make potions though, drag one of the pieces of equipment onto your charater, and it'll bring up the alchemy interface. Here's a link to a chart that shows what ingredient has what properties. The trick is to use two ingredients that have the same property. (You can, of course, use more than two ingredients if you like)
Edit: Oh, nearly forgot... the higher your Alchemy skill, the more properties you can see on an ingredient.
