Oh come on please SE, don't compare Lost Boys to Twilight :p
I've lost my youth long ago, but I can see why teen girls love Twilight. That doesn't make it any less horrible. I mean, many times I thought: "Haven't they even tried?" It's reeks of let's just whip something up with couple of pale posers, the screaming teenagers will lap it up it as long as the title is right.

Yes they will and yes it is full of pale posers. The thing is to a certain demographic they pose so well. The main guy is just so kewl. The girls at my highschool, even in the late 80s, would have luuuurved him.
Why should the makers of Twilight try any harder when they can try this much and get this much success?
And one could argue that if they did try harder they'd end up with something that may be a better film but which would go over the heads of so many of the screaming fans that they have now.
Also Twilight acting > much of Lost Boys acting if we're being completely objective.

Ok, you have a very good point. This is probably how I would've done it too.

I used to be an elitist knob too but then I realised that you can't give taste to everyone, that everyone has to go through a childhood, and that people just want to make moneyzz so we'll always have a range of entertainment from the banal to the trite to the embarrassing to the flimsy money makers to the so-so and the sublime.
DEAL WITH IT

Remember the old vamp movies of the 80s that we (certainly I) loved? Lost Boys, Fright Night and so on? Watch them again - the acting is awful but they still work.
I loved Lost Boys at the time.
Still listen to parts of the soundtrack. But the movie, re-watched now? It's doesn't work. Sadly. :(

I have never and will never see Twilight, but I know this is wrong.
Vampire Jack Bauer, Vampire Bill S. Preston Esq and little shit face Corey Haim and his mum and the crochety old Grandpa are obviously infinitely better than pale face emo glum mops.
