They're very rare, but they do exist. I've got a silenced big ben.
IIRC, there's a truck in the junkyard when you first enter the garbarge, which has a container you can break open for one.

Lying in one of the barracks buildings in the Freedom base. Just there, on the floor. ;) And you can get it for doing some quest or another too, but I don't remember which...

Ah, you're talking about the Vintorez, which is already an almost silent weapon. I was thinking there could be a sniper rifle with an adapted silencer.

The main advantage is 9mm ammo. I found it considerably more effective than AK47 thanks to high accuracy without any modifications, low weight, recoil and high rate of fire - great against quick animals like dogs, great against people too, ammo is never an issue. Now I need to compare it with later assault rifles, maybe it beats some of them too.

It hardly beats the GP37, that is one hell of a gun. I have killed people from immense distances with just one burst of bullets. It would probably be better than the IL86.

Does anyone know of a good darker nights mod? (that's easy to install and compatible w/1.004). My very old 19 in. (not flat screen), crapped the bucket and I now have a 15 in. flat screen. For some reason everything is lighter on this monitor and no matter how I screw around with the gamma and brightness in the game, I can't seem to get it right.
I tried dynamic light on objects, and was able to get it perfect, however whenever I went indoors (the trader), my FPS went down to like 5. Weird, because outdoors ran fine.
