I'm most worried about 'multi-kills'... that, of all things, smacks of a game focused on slaughtering squads of enemies to get through a level. Of course, itmight just be something cool and optional if you happe to get stuck in a (very) bad situation...
My thoughts on light-based stealth... I don't think we should deny the effectiveness of darkness to conceal, but is it reasonable to be able to hide in a shadow two feet in front of a guard and not be noticed? This might be the case when you're outdoors on a cloudy night, but definitely not when you're indoors, down the corridor fron an overhead light. It is simply not realistic for you not to be noticed. And don't get me started on the case ofa corridor with brightly-lit ends and a dim spot in the middle where you're completely invisible... they seem not to notice that black silhouette standing in the middle of the hallway...
So I'd tend to be cautiously optimistic about a move to los-based stealth. However, I would be disappointed if the influence of light and shadow was completely disregarded.

It is simply not realistic
And you think that having a projected vision of yourself, allowing you to see what's around the corner or over wall while hiding, is "realistic"?
Having said that, I really don't care if something is realistic or not. FPS and RPG are not realistic anyway (do you know that a bullet in the heart is generally more lethal than a bullet in the head?). Arguments invoking "realism" just don't make any sense to me. The only thing that matters to me is gameplay.

I take it as being compensation for the fact that you can peek over a barricade in real life, which you cannot do in a video game (and yes, leaning would be better in the other instance, but I'm specifically referring to crouching behind an obstacle here).

Maybe your head is invisible, not mine. A full body in shadow is less visible than a small head in the light. Another important thing is background. If you have your back to a wall, there is less chance to be visible compare to having nothing behind you. Also, we are much better at seeing movement than form. So if you move your head to peek over a barricade and someone is looking in your general direction, there's a big chance you'll be spotted immediately. Oh, and we are also much better at spotting a face than spotting any other part of the body. Basically, the idea that you won't be seen if you peek over a barricade is not realistic.
Could we now stop all this nonsense about realism?

I do not agree. Also, could your first line be any more condescending?

Condescending? That was sarcasm! I consider what you said as stupid, so I feel no remorse whatsoever. After all, when I say something stupid, I have no problem with people laughing at me. In fact, most of the time I will laugh with them. I think it's healthy.
Now, about your "I do not agree"... Where do you disagree?
1) A full body in darkness is less visible than a small head in the light.
2) If you have your back to a wall, there is less chance to be visible compare to having nothing behind you.
3) We are much better at seeing movement than form.
4) we are also much better at spotting a face than spotting any other part of the body.

Nothing new in there, really, but the article does start under an ominous mark ->
Deus Ex 3 (X360) as a category.
Have you ever read an article on IGN? They have separate websites for each platform, and this article was written by the xbox 360 staff and posted on that site. That's all that means.

And I consider you to be one of the more obnoxious -expletive- on the forum, and one that I have no intention of debating given your obvious love of making fun of those who disagree, but I'm generally too polite to say so out loud.

Indeed, sorry about that.
