And if you're spending thousands of dollars on max 7 just for use in T3editing, then you're WAY too obsessed with Thief! :ebil:
I've been obsessed with thief since I tried the demo for The dark project!
The problem Max wise, Discreet stop selling the older versions after a new one comes out!
And money, well Discreet has some good student deals!

okie dokie fellas heres a question for u.... i've been messing around with this new editor on and off for the last couple of days and today went through all the trouble of going through unreal tutorials and also some of the (
http://www.stardogchampion.net/thief3tutorials/index.php) (thanks for that by the way). anywhoo my problem comes up right where that tutorial ends i.e. i click the button to play ingame to have a look at my work.
What i end up getting is nothing for about a minute or 2, then i get the loading screen but no progress bar and that sits there for about 30 seconds before i get a black screen and then nothing, back to windows.
i did have some install problems when i reinstalled thief3 recently but the game runs fine. if any of u have any ideas of what might be goin on please let me know cause even though i just started using this tutorial, im already very impressed and would love to fiddle around a bit more.

I have another basic question...
In UT there's a way in the editor to essentially jump the 3d perspective into an actor so that you can position the arrow more easily... so for example with a directional spotlight you can put the camera inside the actor move around so you can point the spotlight in the exact position you want... is this feature in T3ED??? Because yesterday I was trying to position an actor (it was actually for window light) and it took me like 20 minutes to get the arrow aiming downwards at a 45 degree angle... there has to be an easier way to rotate actors.

Not sure exactly what you're asking, so I'll describe two things that I think might cover your question.
To jump to an actor with all views, right click the actor and do Obsolete->Align Cameras.
To make an actor take the camera's current view for orientation, right click and do Obsolete->Set->Location/Rotation from Camera.

Is there some way to resize a brush to specific dimensions, rather then fiddle with the stetch tool? I often want to tweek the size of the brush slightly by a specific amount (like raising or lowering a cealing) and find the resize tool jumps around too much and is hard to get the exact value I want.
So, what I'd like is some way to type in new size values for an already extant brush...

There doesn't seem to be any way to type in height, width, breadth values to redefine the dimensions of an existing brush. Strange, but true.
