If you like the look of the trailer, don't read further, just go buy it and play it. It's out on iOS, soon out on Android, and since it's selling like hotcakes on iOS I'm guessing other platforms are not out of the question in the future. It's a quite short game (maybe an hour long?) so as to not spoil anyone's experience I'm gonna spoilertag the rest of my thoughts about it.
It's obviously very pretty. Superbrothers-pretty. But with accessible gameplay to back up those looks. It's prettier than it's challenging. In fact it's a tad too easy. Only on the final few puzzles did I have to actually think about what to do, the earlier ones are solvable simply because there's usually only one thing you can do in any given situation. The story is not deep, and the ending is quite weak, but the journey is still worth taking purely because of the sights you'll see and one particularly emotional moment that happens along the way.

Looks great. Will get on iPad Mini. Shame about the name.

What's wrong with the name? Monument Valley sounds fine to me.

It's boring.

I dunno. Sounds kinda mystical and mysterious to me. Like the real Monument Valley, but with less Colorado.

So what the fuck

I'd call it Sock-Crotch McEighties Chapter One: Eyeliner Fetish

I am now amused.

That looks terrific. I've been after another toddler-friendly game for the iPad. Are there puzzles to solve in the game that are harder than average platformers?
My 3yo son was able to beat the first Prince of Persia but it's not an ideal influence with all the sword fighting and impalement that goes on in the game.

Your 3yo was able to beat PoP? That kid is a natural born gamer.
Yes, definitely introduce him to Monument Valley. The puzzles are simple enough, and it's a wonderful experience, one I'm sure will make an impression on a young gamer. It's not violent, but it does have one quite sad moment, at the end of Chapter 6. You might want to play through it yourself first to decide if it's appropriate.
