Having issues with my monitor/video card, not sure which. It happens when I play games that are very dark, and it's happened enough recently that it's very annoying. Hoping someone here can help.
So here's the deal: whenever I'm playing a game that has a very dark environment, if I get into a corner or something similar where the darkness is more significant and pronounced, my monitor just goes black, as if I just turned it completely off. The game is still active, I can hear myself moving, but the monitor will not reactivate until I get back to an area with at least a little more light. Sometimes this is just as simple as turning around.
I went through the settings on my monitor, but I didn't see anything that stuck out. Does anyone know, would something like this be monitor or video card related?
Btw, this has happened on other games, but the more recent ones I noticed it on were Doorways and NaissanceE (a couple of lesser know first person games).

It may have just slipped his mind, or it didn't occur to him. Either way a simple " you might have dynamic contrast enabled" would have sufficed rather than the reply he got.

Follow up on this - there doesn't appear to be any setting on my monitor for Dynamic Contrast or Auto Bright. For the record, it's an LG 27EA33, not a E2770V. Saw another suggestion elsewhere that involved turning off Adaptive Brightness in the Windows control panel, but that didn't work either.
Didn't find much else on this on the web, so I'm going email LG tech support. Not expecting much there, but you never know.

If after they get you do all thier tests and still find nothing its LG's responsibility to replace it under warranty.
