Hey guys,
Yeah, I'm the new guy...So forgive me for asking, but where on earth do I find traders with cash? You see, I'm prety early on (level 4), but I have two enchanted glass daggers and an enchanted staff I need to rid myself of (weight restrictions and all, you know), and I can't find anyone with the 6500 for the daggers or the 4300 for the staff. My character's short blade and "stick" skill levels are woefuly inadequate, and I have a better sword (White Woe), so simply using them is not an option. HELP!!!

Hail and welcome,
The merchant with the most dosh is the Talking Mudcrab Merchant. He has 10000 gold and the directions to his island are (

There is also a scamp merchant with a few thou in Ghorak Manor, Caldera.
In Tribunal you come across people with money, but at level 4 you won't be able to deal with the quests there easily.
Have you thought of trading your loot for some decent armour? The smith in Ghostgate sells glass armour.

Something I found really helpful was when someone explained how to barter properly.
Previously I used to just sell everything for the maximum 5000 that Creeper offered, till I began to instead just exchange the high-priced item I wanted to sell for lots of other 5000 or less valued other items. I then sold all of the items I had just swapped back to Creeper at 24 hours intervals to make up the full cost of the original piece I wanted to sell. Made me about 300 000 gold by the end of the game, and that wasn't even the most I could have made if I had really tried :)

As time goes by, you'll probably find more and more high-priced, rare weapons and armor which you just can't seem to sell to anyone(or you don't want to sell it for a fraction of its value). At some point, I'd suggest finding a nice house or other place and making it your own. Drop all your too-cool-to-sell items in there and become the world's richest packrat!:cheeky: Afterall, nobody really appreciates the true vale of a daedric dikatana or a full suit of ebony armor anyways!;) My favorite house/storage area is the council club in Balmora, but there are many places to drop things, and the stuff you leave on the ground never goes away. With your own house you can collect all sorts of bizzare items and it gives stuff new value - it can make the game even more interesting! (not that it needs it really - Morrowind rocks!)
Anyways, just my two-cents. Not long into the game, you stop needing money in a traditional manner. It is just so easy to steal/make potions/collect loot, that you never really run out. At that point, it starts seeming like a real waste to sell your nifty glass jinkblades or redoran master helms. Even books become fun collector's items - still need a few more sermons of vivec:nono:
Have a good day and good luck in Morrowind!

This is one of the few areas of the game where I don't feel bad about using a fan-made plugin to "help things along." I downloaded... I don't even know which one, some "RichMerchant100k" plugin or other. He lives in Balmora and has a pantload of money. Ordinarily, I think plugins like this are tantamount to cheating, or at least cheating the designers out of their intent for the gaming experience. But in this case, I just did it to save myself loads of time talking to Creeper or the Mudcrab. Since there's no penalty for waiting 24 hours, I'm not really giving myself an unfair leg up on the game - I just got really tired of playing Trade'Em with those two merchants: Selling them a 100,000k sword, and having to buy 90,000 worth of the stuff I'd previously sold them BACK to make the numbers come out. Then repeating that 8 or 9 more times until I had gotten rid of my high-priced items without losing any money.
So that's my advice. Find a nice Rich Merchant plugin and use it. Saves tons of time, doesn't cheat the game at all.
Of course, at some point in the game, money becomes MEANINGLESS. It doesn't take much more than a level 4 character to be able to amass 600-700k (or more) of items. And you'll never, ever be able to spend that all, even if you went to every Master Trainer and had him/her level you up to 100 on every skill. So Kfort also makes a good point - at some point, it's just fun to have a house to display all your stuff. "(

This one is for the really obsessive collector - it has pots for each one of your herbs, different chests for different weapons. Also has mannequins, so you can each of your suits of armor in all its majesty.
