I tested the dml again. It's working. But since players can still break the mission if they frob the key which the "doctor" has on his belt, the NVKeyRing script wouldn't work as expected.
- the key isn't frobable any more
- you'll get the key in a conversation, as the author intended.
- don't save in a conversation.
- I edited the dml

Started mission ...went to chapel but the portal is open and the obvious NOTLD situation isn't triggered by the switch I'm supposed to throw. Running 1.25

Don't know which FM loader you're using. However, there's a old NVscript module in the FM zip. Delete it. Make sure, you have new NVscript.osm in the root folder.

New dml to fix a few more issues over and above crash with conversation posted by Unna, new dml includes fix for hanging arrows, not being able to drop certain items, and invisible flames in gas room.

Can't find the key to open the hatch to the toilets. There is a key to the sewer gate down there but the rope arrows don't seem to work properly and one can get stuck down there. Getting that key is not needed to complete the mission but I would have liked to explore that area beyond the sewer gate.

Go to the infirmary where surgeons were doing something on a patient or deceased. Follow the stairs down outside that room, and continue on that path. You will reach a manhole that serves as one of two access points to a short sewer passage where the sewer gate is located. However, don't go down there but continue on. Pass through a room where most likely you witnessed a battle before. The room beyond does have a pipe with a "DO NOT USE" note sticking to it and a plaque nearby warning of hazardous materials. There is a screw in a part of the pipe that can be used with a strange wrench you might have found earlier, and doing so lets three jets of steam appear in the room where the battle was fought.

In this room with the pipe, the signs and the screw, there should be a "Privy key" somewhere on the ground, most likely near a dead Mechanist. If there's neither a Mechanist nor a key there, then perhaps both ended up in the adjacent room where the battle happened. Either way, you should find that key somewhere there.

However, you might then find out that the sewer gate just connects two parts of a sewer which could be accessed before using the manhole mentioned as well as an opening in a grate covering most of the ground in one room of the passage leading away from the infirmary, down the stairs. I do not remember having found anything special down there.

EDIT: I just found out that the sewer passage can be used as a way around the room with the gas jets if one manages to ignite the gas. This can be done with a fire arrow, making the room impassable for the player.

Thanks for the tip. I did turn on the gas with that wrench but since everyone in that area was dead I did not bother to light it up.
