To call it outright Steampunk would be too strong. I just thought there were too many pre-computer-era style controls on there. I think I even saw taps.
I get that the tardis console was meant to have all kinds of bits bolted on but hasn't the thing regenerated its innards? Did it hold onto the typewriter cos it couldn't think of a better input device?

Was it just me or did the wallpaper in Amy's house look like one of the wallpaper textures from Thief2?

I read that it supposedly could have taken all that stuff from the shed it crashed on, but to me it's really far-fetched even by Doctoresque standards. It's the freakin TARDIS , not a junkyard... :erg:

This sure was a good start. I especially was fond of the part after Prisoner Zero got captured. I'm extra happy because of Moffat taking it over, Blink is one of my all-time favorites. (Also secretly hoping for a return of the Ood.)

I loved it! My introduction to Dr. Who was Eccleston, and I loved him. He brought a certain gravity to the role. I grew to like Tennant, but was never really as fond of his characterization...it never felt as real to me. Perhaps that will change if I go back and catch up on his episodes, I really only watched a handful.
Matt Smith. Gotta say, I warmed to Smith almost immediately. He brings his own interpretation of the role to the table, and at the same time...I'm able to sense a balance between Tennent and Eccleston in there too.
I'll be tuning into this show.

It was a good episode, but the story reminded me of "Smith and Jones" (alien creature which takes human form to hide itself some sort of interstellar police, it was even set (partially) in a hospital). The rest was good, Smith is promising as a Doctor, as is Gillian as his companion.
So the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Weeping Angles will be back, which is good, but I hope they bring in some new "monsters", not just the old ones.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
What did people think of this episode? I wasn't really that enthusiastic about it, actually. It seemed that everything had been done already in some kind of way: the Doctor going to the Dalek ships, the creation of a new kind of Dalek, etc. Plus, I wasn't too fond either of the fight in space. It looked like robo-prof made those three in just 10 minutes or something. I was almost positive they would give as explanation as return of the daleks, that it were the ones from the prison in season 2, who got back from the void (just as the Cybermen in 'The Next Doctor', but no, they found another way to introduce them. And the new Daleks... they reminded me of the Power Rangers.
Well, at least the next episode is gonna be great. I mean...Angels! Angels!
