I checked the file from both sites using AVG and they came out clean.

Can someone please check this file from the dropbox?
It's fine, and so is the one from moddb. Just configure Kaspersky to add an exception (and probably the T3 folder too).

I allowed the file but I see nothing by way of any changes nor do I see a desktop icon......Shouldn't I be seeing a desktop icon or something?
Thanks,
Stefos

Installing with the defaults should create a couple of desktop icons - a yellow glyph and a cyan one.
I temporarily installed the free Kaspersky AV, version 18.0.0.405, and changed the security level in the settings to "high". Installing the full SU 1.1.8 did not produce warnings. After that I used it to scan the entire Thief 3 installation. No threats found there either.
Maybe re-download and reinstall Kaspersky? Or at least disable AV while installing the SU, then re-enable and scan the Thief 3 install afterwards.

Hi there,
I downloaded and scanned the file just fine.
My Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 has updated the virus database.
It's when I double click on the file that it shows as a Trojan.
I'm all set with TDS...........guess I'm not going to play it.
Thanks for everything,
Stefos
P.S. Perhaps at the next update/build I will retry it otherwise NOPE!

I think several people here have verified for you that it's fine. It's just a false positive. Ignore it and enjoy the mediocrity of TDS (and the awesomeness of SU).

No sir........Several people have checked it via AVS and Kaspersky trial software but no one double clicked the .exe.
I don't have $$$ to test false positives.........You try it and let me know please how it runs on your PC...Please try it out using Kaspersky and post how you got past the false positive in Kaspersky.
Otherwise, I don't believe a word anyone says.
Stefos
P.S. Sorry but I'm not trying to be a jerk.

stefos is right. Every one of you here knows that it's a virus via Trojan Horse. You're all just in on it in order to destroy this man's computer. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Report the file to Kaspersky as a false positive. Make sure to state which version of their software you have.
Out of curiosity, do you get the same warning when double-clicking the (
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5eq2rie8zhypr6k/Setup_T3SneakyUpgrade_Update_1.1.8.exe?dl=1) Update Edition of the SU? Because you can upload that directly to (
https://virusdesk.kaspersky.com/) Kaspersky, and see that it's clean. (Unfortunately the Full Edition is too large for upload there.)
Edit: No-one doubleclicked the .exe?! I did install it while running Kaspersky at the most paranoid level and didn't get a warning.

Update:
I have great news to share:
After much research, testing and being foolish enough to say it might be a False Positive indeed........I paused Kaspersky.
The result is........it IS in fact a false positive.
I need to thank everyone here for their help.
I tried my best to not disrespect anyone and apologize to anyone if I did disrespect you..........It was not my will to disrespect anyone.
My computer's power supply freaked some time ago and it killed my motherboard........Fortunately I was in warrantee and Dell replaced the power supply and motherboard at no charge to me.
I did however have to reinstall everything.
This is what I feared would happen to me again: A bricked PC
Thank you gentlemen and ladies (if any tried to help me) for your assistance.
The mod is wonderful and works like a charm.
The only "issue" is the skating Garret which is fixed when the bow is drawn.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
