I love the Thief and System Shock games and found Arx was right
up my street as well, plenty of nice touches and a real "atmosphere"
game.. the only problem I have with it is missing textures (some items
appear opaque white) apparently due to an incompatibility with my
6800 graphics cards. This doesn't look likely to be fixed;

..only affects a selected number of items like loaves, giant rats and
levers, and once you know it you stop trying to kill loaves and pull
rats :p

Note: this thread is a few months old.

I had this very same problem (with a Geforce 6600 GT) with the textures turning white, but the new batch of textures (see the link) fixed it. Works like a charm! I recommend someone makes this thready a Sticky, since I presume it might crop up pretty often in the future (from browsing through that thread, I got the impression that <b>all</b> the future GPUs will have this problem).
