I've decided to switch to a mod-ready version of SS2; (after some clumsy copypasting of mod-ready files into my System Shock folder) the problem is, however, that I can't seem to find the save files anywhere. I've saved but the current folder is empty and there are no other things that look like saves.
On the other hand, the game loads perfectly and so does my save; a wonderful 'HYDROPONICS A 4:40:30' plastered onto the load screen pops me right into that delightful Annelid breeding ground.
Curiously, I cannot use the Widescreen mod.

Read the (
http://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=106.0) SS2 Tech FAQ to create a working and mod ready SS2 installation.
Your save games are stored in folders named "save_xx" right in your SS2 folder (where xx is the number of the save slot from top to bottom 1-14). Just copy over those save_xx folders.
The "current" folder contains the current autosave or quicksave (depending on setup). You can copy that over as well.
