There isn't anyway to shift Major/Minor skills is there? After a few days and some reading I decided I wanted to take up marksmanship. Right now it's a minor skill for me at 15 so raising it is a pain. If I practice it enough and it got higher than a major skill would it become a major skill or remain minor? What are the advantages/disadvantages of major/minor skills? Thanks.

no, you cant change skills around. but if it is a minor skill then it shouldnt be too hard to levelitup. major and minor skills both count towards your guy leveling up. im not sure if there even is a difference between major and minor.

Major skills level faster than Minor skills and the skills in your speciality(Combat / Magic / Stealth) will level faster than the others (if you only have 15 in Marksman you haven't specialized in Stealth).
Also Agility will help you hit better (it's the governing attribute of Marksman and it helps your to-hit) and Luck will also help a bit. If you have some skill in Conjuration (20 or higher) the 'Bound Longbow' spell, buyable at Estirdalin in Balmora Mages Guild, can also help since the summoned bow gives +10 Marksmanship.

Heh someone's prolly gonna slap me for this, or at least I usually would. Are there any character/savegame editors out there? Just wanna swap marksman with another skill, I'm usually not so keen to cheating, but I've put enough time into it that I don't want to start over again.

Hmm.. I haven't heard of any, and I doubt there will be due to how much the console opens up. The only way I know of to do this via the console (ie: bringing up the character generation UI) also supposedly resets all your stats and your level.
